I love when Jim speaks his mind. People need to be shaken up. But of course, I'm a "Mort Sahl fan"
Are you all rebellious too? What did you think of the show (not the music)? I don't really care about the sexual stuff, I like when he shows his anger towards an apathetic society who allow their lives to be compromised by power.

I think his rebellious side was the main thing that made him so fascinating.
I loved that he had such confidence and articulation, which really made that rebellious side much more interesting. It's not easy to balance those, he had a gift.
That said, it's easy to be a rebel when you're in your twenties and have zero responsibilities. Jim could say "fuck the establishment" because his considerable income was generated from rebellion. A 9-5 guy with kids and a mortgage can't afford to whip out (or pretend to whip out) his member at a dinner club. Although sadly, neither could Jim, as he became a bit of a pariah after Miami.
I used to shoplift a lot and occasionally hang on the hood of moving cars when I was a kid, just dumb shit. I'm not a rebel, but I do try to be cautious and question both the left and right.
Mortsahlfan, you're a rebel?
