Hi, I just discovered this forum and an older one. I haven't been on forums in years, so this is a great wealth of information. I am reading up on so many interesting threads. There's so much info and so much Doors knowledge on here.
This kinda ties in to the evolution of the band playing live, as mentioned above, and something I've pondered for a while:
I wonder, does anyone know if 'all' their concerts are documented?
Eg - I'm looking to read as much as I can about their earlier days... The London Fog and onto the Whisky, but what's the chronology? Does info exist on each of their gigs, dates and reviews? I wonder if there's people on here who actually saw them play live? I saw The Doors of the 21st Century and Robby's band. Just not old enough to have seen The Doors.
In today's music of album, tour, album, tour, rest, write... I'm interested in finding out what their work rate was - they put out a lot of work in a short space of time. I'm fascinated by the speed by which they did it all.
It would be great to see their progression - from shows like the Fog, knowing their setlists, seeing when they put their songs out... did they hone them live as they were going, the first album - knowing where they played touring it and seeing the capacity of venues growing each time. It's a lot of information, I wonder how much is out there?
I just got the new-ish Live at The London Fog album. It was a tiny venue. They haven't got many of their own songs on it. Were they in residence long before it all just exploded? Mad to think of their legacy from such beginnings!
