Jim asked the other guys to write songs. Only Robby did and he wrote some of the biggest hits and other songs. I think part of it Robby doesn't have such a huge ego.

"Light My Fire' (despite not being a favorite of mine) really helped them.. "Love Me Two Times" - another one I hardly ever listen to was a minor hit.. "Touch Me", which I do like... "Love Her Madly" is another good one, although Paul Rothschild called it "cocktail jazz" (and said he liked 'Riders on the Storm').. Like you said, he was an easygoing guy, not very loud vocally on stage or off.. But it was Jim who told a friend, "Robby's got an innovative mind", and there's some praise from Jim in the last interview, even calling Robby a poet

Robby won't get his due because the average fan doesn't want to spend a little time and learn. I don't remember Ray ever writing anything.
