I'm Stefan from Switzerland. I collect vinyl albums from the Doors since 1981. It makes me wonder what other people are collecting from Doors albums ... what they have in their collection. Currently I have 1282 albums in the collection. Here are two recent pictures of my record collection. Cheers, Stefan

Hi Stefan! That's an AMAZING photo. 1282 is more than I ever had. Do you keep a list, would love to see it all. I had to sell all mine a few years ago, but I had The Doors, Strange Days, Waiting For The Sun, The Soft Parade, Morrison Hotel, LA Woman.

Hi Stefan and welcome to the board! You've got a nice collection! I used to go to garage sales and get records, and know I had a few Doors one, but I can't remember which ones they were. I remember my first ever album. Pink Floyd's "The Wall" - a life changer, but that was after I heard The Doors, which was the "door" to the better arts.

Nice collection - I like how you've organized and taken care of them for such a long time. My dad threw my records out after I moved out many years ago. Since then, I've only bought comedy albums.
I've been to Switzerland, though

AdminOh ... I too can remember a Pink Floyd LP! In 1979, for the first time, I heard "Wish you were here" ... one of the most impressive musical experiences of my life! My real love and "home" are then the Doors ;-)

mortsahlfanWe say in German language: "Ordnung ist das halbe Leben" (Order is half of life) I am a warehouse worker. I LOVE order! If you keep the records as I do, then neither dust nor light comes to the records.

I hope to find people here who share my passion for collecting Doors records. In my collection I have ... hmm ... two priorities: Radio shows and records from different countries, "distant" countries. Here are three examples: Best of the Doors, made in Zimbabwe: Full Circle, made in Malaysia: Soft Parade, made in Costa Rica: Cheers, Stefan

I never saw those covers, and saw different photos in the past. Especially "The Best of The Doors" which only shows Jim. I'm wondering who authorized this, since Jim always seemed to insist The Doors, not "Jim Morrison & The Doors". Were the other members on the back?

Andrea: It also bothers me that often only Jim can be seen and not all four Doors! You see that my avatar is a picture where all four Doors are to be seen ... one of my favorite pictures of the Doors. The back of Best of the doors you can see here:

The latest record in my collection, I am very happy to have purchased it: L.A.Woman ... from the LEBANON! The seller told me that this LP survived the Lebanon War. That it is made in Lebanon is already a rarity. If you look at the cover - it is reversed. I have 65 different L.A.Woman, only three are reversed, the three from Mexico ... and now from Lebanon ;-) Hope the upload works - the "old" provider has disabled his website. ibb.co/mrKjHpH

I saw through my records... there is only Seattle '70. Have also looked through the platforms (discogs & Co.) ... there is probably nothing of Seattle '68.

I also saw this in Greg Shaw's book about their touring history - great book.... I really want this show because apparently Jim talks a lot to the audience about things he really cares about. The reviewer said Jim was very sincere and thoughtful, etc. Here's some information. Venue Address: 305 Harrison St. - Seattle, WA Promotion: Boyd Grafmyre/KOL Event: In Concert Also Performing: Crome Syrcus International Brick Setlist: When The Music's Over Texas Radio & The Big Beat Hello, I Love You Five To One Light My Fire The Unknown Soldier (Incomplete)

Unfortunately, my pictures uploaded with Tinypic are no longer available because Tinypic has discontinued its operation :-( Now I'm trying a different website but it's not as good as Tinypic. Here is a very rare record, only 30 copies: JIMI HENDRIX / THE DOORS - MAUI WOWIE Once in blue vinyl and once in green vinyl Cheers, Stefan
